🦈 South African Shark Week 2027: The Ultimate Pelagic Apex Adventure

Dates: October 23 – November 1, 2027

Location: Protea Banks & Aliwal Shoal, South Africa

Trip Type: Advanced Pelagic Shark Diving / Extreme Adventure

This Isn’t Tropical "Easy" Diving. This is Where Legends Are Made.

Forget the calm, shallow coral gardens. If your pulse races at the thought of deep blue water, pulsing currents and close encounters with the ocean’s ultimate apex predators, your 2027 bucket list trip has arrived.

Savage Travels is proud to team up with Scuba Travel for the South African Shark Week in October/November 2027.

Head straight to the wild, untamed coast of South Africa, one of the very few places on Earth where you can lock eyes with massive pelagic sharks in their natural habitat.

Designed strictly for experienced divers seeking high octane thrills, this expedition drops you right into the middle of the action across two legendary marine hotspots: Protea Banks and Aliwal Shoal.

What You’ll Dive With

  • Protea Banks: Known for heart pounding drift dives and deep water action. This is heavy duty territory with prime opportunities to encounter Bull Sharks (Zambezi sharks), Tiger Sharks, Hammerheads and resident Ragged-Tooth Sharks.

  • Aliwal Shoal: A world-renowned playground offering encounters with Dusky Sharks, Blacktips and staggering numbers of Ragged-Tooth Sharks.

Ethical, Unfiltered Encounters:

No cages, no feeding and zero touching. These expeditions utilize strictly controlled, ethical "scented dives" (using natural fish oil and sardine-filled drums to create a scent trail) allowing the sharks to approach naturally while you hover in the open blue water. You aren't just an observer here, you are part of the ecosystem.
