Backpacking Tanzania

10 Nov - 25 Nov 2025

Savage Travel Group Trip

Tanzania is Calling (and it's Gonna Be Epic!)

Hey adventurers, street food connoisseurs and anyone who's ever dreamt of seeing an Elephant up close! We're cooking up an absolutely incredible trip to Tanzania this November and you're gonna want in on this.

From November 10th to November 25th, 2025, we're ditching the fancy resorts and diving headfirst into the real Tanzania.

This isn't your average, perfectly manicured vacation this is a proper adventure, the kind that leaves you with amazing stories (and maybe a little dust in your hair).

Here s the lowdown on what we re getting into:

We kick things off in Dar Es Salaam on November 10th. Think chill vibes, getting your bearings and soaking up the local scene. Depending on when everyone lands, we might meet up at the airport or it'll be a "every-person-for-themselves-to-the-backpackers" kind of deal. Either way, we'll be shacked up at L&J Modern Backpackers Kinondoni for a couple of nights, ready to chill, eat some seriously tasty (and cheap!) street food and maybe even find a cold beer or two.

Next up, we're hopping on an "African chicken bus" (yep, you read that right!) for a long, dusty, but totally memorable journey to Arusha. This is where your sense of humor and a good snack stash will come in handy! We'll settle into Safari Villa for a couple of nights, giving us time to unwind and do any last-minute safari shopping.

And then SAFARI TIME! Get ready to have your mind blown from November 14th to 17th. We re talking Tarangire National Park (home to more elephants than you can shake a stick at!), the stunning Manyara Rift Valley, the iconic Serengeti and the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater. Seriously, prepare for some jaw-dropping wildlife encounters. After all that safari excitement, we'll have a quick overnight back in Arusha before another long travel day takes us back to Dar Es Salaam.

Just another chance to soak in the Tanzanian landscape (and maybe catch up on some Zs).

On November 19th, we're ditching the dust for some serious beach vibes as we head to Zanzibar. Think sun, sand and probably a few too many fruity cocktails. We'll start in Stone Town, soaking up the history and charm Then for the rest of our time in Zanzibar (November 20th-24th), we're going old-school. No rigid plans, no pre-booked tours. We'll chat with other travelers, see where the wind takes us and just explore this incredible island at our own pace. Because sometimes, the best adventures are the unplanned ones, right?

Finally, on November 24th, we'll make our way back to Dar Es Salaam, probably a little sunburnt, definitely full of incredible memories. We'll crash at Hakuna Matta Ocean View for one last night before flying home on November 25th.

This trip isn't about luxury; it's about authentic experiences, incredible sights and making memories that will last a lifetime. It's a "basic budget" kind of trip, meaning we're keeping it real and focusing on the good stuff. So, if you're up for an adventure, love a good laugh and don't mind a bit of dust, then Tanzania is calling your name. Let s make this happen!

So, you're dreaming of Zanzibar?

Excellent choice! But let's be real, this isn't a one-size-fits-all kind of paradise. Zanzibar is like a choose-your-own-adventure novel, but instead of turning pages, you're turning up the dial on adventure, relaxation or cultural immersion. All at your own pace and more importantly, your own price point!

With miles of impossibly white sand stretching as far as the eye can see and water so ridiculously blue it looks photoshopped, you'll be spoilt for choice.

From swanky resorts where champagne flows like the tide to charming guesthouses where you can mingle with locals, Zanzibar has a pillow for every head and a price tag for every wallet. So pack your swimsuit, your sense of adventure and maybe a little extra cash for all those irresistible spice market finds, because your Zanzibar budget is entirely up to YOU and what kind of magic you want to sprinkle on your trip!

Dar es Sallam - 24 Nov to 25 Nov.

All good things must come to an end and unfortunatley our Tazanian adventure is no different. Our last night in this tropical paradise, our last night to forget about the rat race that is waiting for our return.
